The Innovator Founder Visa targets individuals with relevant business experience and the necessary funds to start and expand a new business in the UK. Prior to applying, the business or idea must be reviewed by a Home Office–approved endorsing body, which will evaluate its potential and, if approved, issue an endorsement letter for the application.
Those who are approved receive a three-year visa and can bring their family members to the UK. After this period, they may apply to extend their stay for another three years or seek permanent residency through indefinite leave to remain (ILR). Each phase of the process—initial application, extension, and settlement—requires endorsement from an approved body.
Residence permits are obtainable within three weeks.
Permanent residency can be achieved after three years.
The business environment is internationally oriented.
There is a favorable tax system for individuals who are residents but not domiciled.
Direct international flight connections to most major global cities
To apply for UAE residence, individuals must submit completed application forms along with the required fees and supporting documents. The Golden Residence visa is valid for 10 years and can be renewed upon expiration. Holding the visa while residing outside the UAE does not invalidate it, but investments must be maintained for a minimum of three years.
After completing the initial due diligence checks and paying the retainer, the application for UAE residence can be submitted to the government. Upon meeting the requirements and receiving initial approval, the applicant is issued a six-month multiple-entry visa to travel to the UAE, where they must apply for an ID card and undergo a medical examination. Full approval will then be granted, and the residence visa will be issued.
The entire process typically takes more than eight weeks.

Innovation: An original, genuine business plan that meets new or existing market needs and/or creates a competitive advantage
Viability: A realistic and achievable business plan, based on the available resources. Applicants must have, or be actively developing, the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, and market awareness to successfully run their business
Scalability: Evidence of structured planning and potential for job creation and growth into national and international markets
The completed application and required documents must be submitted to the diplomatic post in the applicant's country of residence. The processing time can vary depending on the embassy but generally takes between one and eight weeks for approval.
After the initial three-year period, the main applicant must apply for a 'stay extension' from within the UK. If all criteria are met, the authorities will grant a three-year extension. Following this, and after spending at least five years in the UK with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the final 12 months, the applicant may apply for British citizenship.
Business owners are allowed to pursue secondary employment in the country, provided it is in a skilled labor role.
